Opera was the first browser to support the Bittorrent protocol. Their BT support is quite solid, but not very advanced and doesn’t support some well-known BT extensions. In short: nice for new users, but not for regular downloaders. More on those here…

What however beats the pack is the ability to download using the browser your most comfortable with. I actually only used Opera during the “pre-fibre era” and still do when I’m not on a broadband connection. I just recently discovered Furk.net which gives you a direct download option for your own torrent links. This is especially useful if your admin has blocked torrent downloads at your workplace or school, it works at mine.
